7TH ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL COMPOSITION COMPETITION RESULTS

The International Composition Competition is in its 7th year. This year, we accepted 14 entries from 3 countries, which were narrowed down to 3 finalists. The 3 finalist pieces selected were:

  • ​Animalia for Flute and Orchestra, by Sy Brandon (US)
  • ​Montage for Flute and Orchestra, by Michael Todd Kovell (US)
  • ​Rhapsody for Flute and Orchestra, by Pasquale Tassone (US)

The Composition Contest finals were held Sunday, April 7, 2024 at the Palladium Theater in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Rhapsody for Flute and Orchestra, by Pasquale Tassone (US) is the winner of the 7th Annual International Composition Competition. This piece will be performed at our Fall 2024 Series. 

Pasquale Tassone’s Rhapsody for Flute and Orchestra was also the Audience Choice winner.

Fall 2024 series performances will be held on the following dates:

  • Sunday, November 3, 2024, 2:30 pm – Ferguson Hall, Straz Center, Tampa
  • Friday, November 8, 2024, 8 pm – New Tampa Performing Arts Center, Tampa
  • Sunday, November 10, 2024, 2:30 pm – Palladium Theater, St. Petersburg

Tickets will go on sale for the 2024-2025 Season in May 2024.
